About Us

In 1997, Grace Presbytery appointed a task force to bring a new church development to the growing suburb of Frisco, Texas.  They envisioned the new church as a neighborhood/ community church.  Seven acres were purchased for the future church site.  The task force called Philip Lotspeich as the organizing pastor. In August 1999, a group of interested community members were assembled and began meeting in homes to guide the development of the new church.  The church was named “Faithbridge” with a mission of “bridging the gap between your life and God’s love.”   The first official church service was held January 9, 2000.  Services were blended in nature, with contemporary music and culturally relevant messages.  Music was piano and guitar driven.  For the first five years, the congregation met in elementary schools.  During this time membership grew rapidly and the church’s primary focus was on developing small groups and outreach to the community.  The church chartered on September 21, 2001, becoming an official PCUSA congregation.

In 2003, Faithbridge began the journey of building its first building with a building campaign, raising $500K in pledges.  The church broke ground on Palm Sunday 2004, and building commenced.  Our first service in the new building was Easter Sunday, 2005.  During our four years in the building, we have continued our small group based ministries, expanded our Sunday School programs, youth program, and praise band.  We have begun an on-site preschool to serve the community, and continued our outreach to those in need.

In 2006, Faithbridge began a partnership with Holy Seed Presbyterian Church, co-locating on the same property, and sharing ministries and building resources. In 2007, Faithbridge, Holy Seed, and the new Legacy Presbyterian Church in Frisco all joined in establishing a Joint Venture Ministry to serve Christ together in the Frisco area and around the world.

In January 2008, thanks to an anonymous donation, Faithbridge was able to pay off the mortgage on the building, and is facing the future debt-free and ready to respond to this gift of God’s grace.  Amy Hunt came to Faithbridge in 2008 as the stated supply.  She and her family have moved to Frisco following her service as a military chaplin.  She remains on reserve duty.  Cheryl Stovall joined the staff in 2005 as the Director of the Kids Day Out program.  This program remains an active part of our church's mission.

The next chapter in our history will be exciting and we are ready to see what God has in mind for us to do.  We will answer His call….
